1 Mins read

Two men have been arrested by Old Kampala Police for stealing Shs5million from Chinese Nationals at gunpoint on Thursday night.

Onen Moses and Okurorwoth Harrison attacked the home of Chinese Nationals in Kakyeka Zone Rubaga Division, stole the money and some house hold items.

Upon reporting the case at Police, OC Lungujja ASP. Kibiro Zacharia said that they immediately followed the tips given and the suspects were apprehended.

He further said that the suspects will now be paraded in a criminal court and charged accordingly.

Genesis of the Robbery

ASP. Kibiro Zacharia revealed that the robbery was a result of firing one of the suspects, who was working with the chinise nationals for over two years.

“The victims were employing Okurorwoth as a potter for two years but after a series of disagreements they chose to lay him off his job an action he didn’t take in good faith.

“He later showed up with his friends and stormed his former employer’s home demanding for his job back or a juicy lay off package.

“His demands were futile as they fell on a deaf ear.

“Okurorwoth and his company showed up at around 11:30pm, one of them had a gun, robbed 5million Uganda Shillings and managed to walk away with some house property as a compensation for being fired.”
