Man who said Bahima Should Not Marry Bairu Finally Arrested

1 Mins read

Police has arrested William Tandeka who on a certain wedding said that Bahima should not marry Bairu, Uganda Mirror reports.

William Tandeka, 52, was picked from his home a few days ago in Nabuguyo village Kenshunga Sub County, Gomba district after President Museveni ordered his arrest basing on the fact that his comments promote sectarianism and divisionism among Ugandans.

It should be noted that while attending a wedding of his cousin Godwin Mabona in Kiruhura district, he said; “I told you here when we’re burying your dad that if you really love me, never marry Bairu.”

His words didn’t go well with the president since he says the NRM government has been promoting unity among different cultures in the country.

William Tandeka will now be arraigned before court and charged with Promoting Sectarianism.

It is also worth noting that the suspect was a resident of Kiruhura district before he migrated to Gomba where he stays with his family.
