The accolade was presented by Public Opinions as part of its Responsible Investment Global Award, an initiative that recognises individuals whose work has made a significant contribution to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

According to Public Opinions, the award acknowledges Dr. Sengonzi’s exemplary public service, commitment to accountability, and dedication to implementing government programmes aimed at improving the lives of Ugandans.

While presenting the award, Public Opinions Team Leader Buyinza Adam Luzindana described Dr. Sengonzi as a committed public servant whose leadership has played a key role in advancing the country’s development agenda.

He praised the Finance Ministry official for what he termed unwavering loyalty to President Yoweri Museveni and a strong commitment to achieving Uganda’s national development objectives.

Buyinza said Dr. Sengonzi has made notable contributions towards enhancing the integrity and efficiency of Uganda’s public financial management system.

“His efforts have been central to promoting budget transparency and advancing financial inclusion, ensuring that national financial strategies remain aligned with the broader goals of sustainable economic growth,” Buyinza said.

The recognition comes at a time when the Ministry of Finance continues to implement reforms aimed at strengthening fiscal discipline, improving budget execution, enhancing accountability, and ensuring efficient utilisation of public resources.

Receiving the award, Dr. Sengonzi expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to continue serving the country with diligence and integrity.

He reaffirmed his commitment to executing his responsibilities faithfully and ensuring that public resources are managed efficiently for the benefit of all Ugandans.

“I will continue diligently executing my mandate and ensuring that public resources directly benefit the citizens,” Dr. Sengonzi said.

The Responsible Investment Global Award is organised by Public Opinions to honour individuals and institutions whose leadership and professional contributions have had a positive impact on Uganda’s economic and social development.

Dr. Sengonzi joins a growing list of public officials recognised for promoting sound governance, accountability, and responsible management of public resources, key pillars that government says are essential for achieving sustainable economic growth and the objectives of Uganda’s national development agenda.
