Technology services provider Dimension Data Uganda has officially rebranded to NTT DATA, a move the company says will strengthen its ability to support Uganda’s growing digital economy through expanded access to artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, cybersecurity and managed technology services.

The announcement, made on Thursday, marks the completion of the company’s integration into NTT DATA, one of the world’s largest business and technology services firms.

Company executives said the transition will allow Ugandan businesses to tap into broader global expertise and advanced digital solutions while continuing to receive locally delivered services.

The rebranding comes at a time when Uganda is witnessing increased digital adoption across both the public and private sectors, driven by expanding internet connectivity, the growth of digital financial services, government investment in e-services and rising demand for secure digital infrastructure.

Businesses across industries such as banking, telecommunications, manufacturing, education and healthcare are increasingly investing in technology to modernise operations, strengthen cybersecurity and improve customer experience through emerging technologies such as AI.

NTT DATA Uganda Country Manager Euniah Nyandieka said the transition would enable the company to better respond to the changing technology needs of organisations in Uganda.

“The move to NTT DATA will help us deliver broader technology solutions that meet the evolving needs of businesses in Uganda,” Nyandieka said.

“By combining our strong local expertise with NTT DATA’s global capabilities, we can help organisations accelerate digital transformation with secure, scalable and AI-driven technologies that improve operational efficiency, resilience and long-term growth.”

She said the rebranding represents more than a name change, describing it as a significant milestone that positions the company to play a larger role in Uganda’s digital transformation agenda.

“This marks an important milestone for our business in Uganda and reflects both how far we have come and where we are going,” Nyandieka said.

“As NTT DATA, we are strengthening our commitment to clients and partners by combining deep local market understanding with broader global capabilities, stronger innovation ecosystems and advanced technical expertise to help organisations accelerate their digital transformation journeys.”

Industry analysts have identified cloud computing, AI and cybersecurity as some of the fastest-growing technology investment areas across Africa, as organisations seek to improve efficiency while protecting themselves from increasingly sophisticated cyber threats.

The company said Ugandan enterprises will now have access to a wider range of services, including enterprise cloud solutions, AI-powered technologies, networking, cybersecurity and managed services backed by NTT DATA’s global capabilities.

The transition also aligns with Uganda’s broader ambitions to build a digital economy by encouraging innovation, improving public service delivery through technology and expanding access to digital infrastructure.

Globally, NTT DATA is a business and technology services company with annual revenues exceeding $30 billion. The company serves 75 per cent of the Fortune Global 100 companies and operates in more than 70 countries.

Its portfolio spans AI, cloud computing, cybersecurity, connectivity, data centres, consulting and application services. NTT DATA is part of the NTT Group, which invests more than $3 billion annually in research and development.

The company says the combination of its international technology capabilities with local expertise is expected to help Ugandan organisations accelerate digital transformation while improving resilience, competitiveness and long-term business growth.
