The National Resistance Movement (NRM) presidential flag bearer, H.E. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, returns to Busoga Sub-region today for Day 2 of his campaign tour, with scheduled rallies in Bugweri and Namutumba districts.
The President is expected to address supporters in Bugweri at 11:00AM and later in Namutumba at 3:00PM, where he will spotlight the NRM government’s achievements over the years and outline his priorities for the 2026–2031 term.
According to the campaign program, Museveni will emphasize the theme “Protecting the Gains,” a central message in the ruling party’s effort to rally support by building on progress made in infrastructure, education, healthcare, wealth creation, and national stability.
During his Busoga engagements, the President is also expected to revisit government commitments to local economic transformation, including the Parish Development Model, value addition, and job creation for the region’s large youth population.
Museveni’s return to Busoga signals the importance of the region—one of the country’s most politically influential voting blocs—in the upcoming 2026 general election.
The tour also provides an opportunity for the President to respond directly to community concerns and reinforce his case for another term as he seeks to maintain the NRM’s long-standing support base.
More updates to follow as the campaign moves through Busoga.
