Felicite Nson has officially assumed office as the new Managing Director of Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), making history as the first woman to head one of Uganda’s most celebrated brands. She takes over from Andrew Kilonzo, who has been appointed Managing Director of Kenya Breweries Limited (KBL).
Nson brings with her over two decades of leadership experience across Africa, with a strong reputation for business transformation and growth. Before joining UBL, she served as Managing Director of Guinness Ghana Plc, where she had previously been Sales and Marketing Director between 2019 and 2023.
At Guinness Ghana, Nson spearheaded remarkable performance, with the company becoming Diageo’s fastest-growing African market—posting a 36% year-on-year revenue increase and an 83% jump in operating profit in the first half of F25. Her career also includes leadership roles at MTN Cameroon, where she was Head of Consumer Marketing, and at Coca-Cola West Africa as Advertising Manager.
Jimmy D. Mugerwa, UBL’s Board Chairman, welcomed her appointment, saying: “The Board is delighted to welcome Felicite to UBL. Her appointment reflects our commitment to nurturing talent and strengthening leadership across our markets. It is a testament to our succession planning and Diageo’s investment in leadership development. We look forward to the expertise and vision she brings.”
Mugerwa also praised outgoing MD Andrew Kilonzo for steering UBL through a critical period, including post-pandemic recovery, while advancing innovation and reinforcing market growth. He expressed confidence that Nson will build on this momentum by driving sustainability, fostering diversity and inclusion, and deepening market presence.
