On Tuesday, 23rd September 2025, Kololo Independence Grounds will come alive with music, dance, and comedy as President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni officially launches his 2026 re-election campaign under the theme “Protecting the Gains.”
The grand event will follow his official nomination by the Electoral Commission at its new headquarters in Lweza-Lubowa and promises to be both a political and cultural spectacle.
To mark the occasion, a star-studded lineup of Uganda’s top entertainers has been unveiled, making the launch both celebratory and inclusive. Big names expected to thrill the crowds include Bebe Cool, Jose Chameleone, Eddy Kenzo, Ronald Mayinja, Catherine Kusasira, Full Figure, Phina Mugerwa, Lil Pazo Lunabe, Stecia Mayanja, Alien Skin, Gravity Omutujju, Daddy Andre, Weasel Manizo, Ykee Benda, Coco Finger, and more.
The event will also showcase inclusivity, one of the hallmarks of President Museveni and the NRM by bringing performers from every corner of Uganda. From the north, Bosmic Otim, Odongo Romeo, Prisca Janet, Mc Rock, Okenge Born Town, Deno Traditional Group, Blood Moon, and JM Kennedy will bring Acholi, Lango, and West Nile cultural vibes.
The western region will be represented by crowd favorites such as Ray G, Truth 256, T Paul, Sister Charity, MC Kacheche, and Baingana, while Eastern Uganda will light up the stage with acts like Davido Spider, Rexy, Temperature Tach, Evy Treys, Victor Ruz, MC Rogers, and the Idi Amasaba Cultural Group.
Adding a comic twist to the celebrations will be Uganda’s finest comedians, including Madrat and Chiko, Dr. Hilary, Teacher Mpamire, Salvado, and Pastor Twine Herbert.
With this diverse mix of music, dance, comedy, and cultural showcases, Kololo is set to become a true national celebration as President Museveni kicks off his 2026 campaign journey with a bid for another term in office.
