The Public Service Commission (PSC) has officially launched its 2025 Graduate Recruitment exercise, opening opportunities for fresh graduates to join public service roles across the country.

Speaking at the launch, PSC Chairperson Winnie Kabogoza Musoke said the program is part of the commission’s drive to attract qualified young professionals into government institutions.

“This exercise reflects our strong commitment to strengthening public service by bringing in talented, motivated graduates,” she said.

According to Musoke, the Internal Advert (Graduate Recruitment Exercise) No. 1/2025, which ran from June 23 to July 21, 2025, attracted an overwhelming 81,873 applicants competing for just 277 vacancies across 18 government entities.

After the screening, 43,123 candidates were shortlisted. The shortlist was published on September 1, 2025, while unsuccessful applicants were allowed to appeal by September 11.

“The commission has already received over 400 appeals from candidates seeking reconsideration,” she said.

However, the process was not without challenges. Musoke highlighted common mistakes by applicants, noting that many ignored instructions, failed to attach required documents, created multiple accounts, or applied for more positions than allowed.

“In some cases, we even had engineers applying for human resource roles,” she remarked.

She urged candidates to rely solely on the PSC website for accurate information and to carefully follow application guidelines.

The next stage of the exercise will be aptitude tests scheduled for September 15–26, 2025, at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. Candidates will be notified via their registered phone contacts and the PSC website, with individual schedules posted by September 12.

“We urge all applicants to carry their National IDs, arrive at least one hour early, and avoid bringing unnecessary items due to security checks,” Musoke said.

Results of the aptitude tests will be released by October 6, 2025, followed by oral interviews from October 13 to 31. The commission will maintain a ratio of six candidates for every available position to ensure fairness and competitiveness in the selection process.

Musoke reaffirmed PSC’s dedication to building a competent, motivated, and accountable public service workforce, stressing that the 2025 recruitment exercise is a vital step in shaping Uganda’s future human resource base.
