MTN Uganda has reaffirmed its commitment to the Busoga Kingdom as it joined in celebrating the 11th coronation anniversary of His Majesty the Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV. The celebration marks a significant milestone in the Kyabazinga’s reign and comes shortly after the royal family welcomed twin princes, William Ethan Nadiope and Arnold Eli Nadiope, on August 27, 2025.
MTN Uganda was represented at the event by the General Manager, Customer Experience, Dorcas Muhwezi, who attended on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer, Sylvia Mulinge. Muhwezi highlighted MTN’s enduring partnership with Busoga Kingdom and the company’s role in supporting cultural identity and social progress.
Speaking at the celebration, Muhwezi said, “MTN Uganda recognizes culture as one of the strongest pillars of society. For more than five years, we have stood alongside the Busoga Kingdom to support not only the commemoration of the Kyabazinga’s coronation, but also initiatives that uplift communities. These include sports programs like the ongoing MTN Busoga Kingdom Masaza Tournament powered by Kabode, and the bicycle races that raise awareness in the fight against teenage pregnancies. Together with the Kingdom, we are committed to ensuring that Busoga achieves its socio-economic goals.”
In a special gesture of goodwill, MTN Uganda and MTN MoMo congratulated the royal family on the birth of Their Majesties’ twin sons, Princes William Ethan Nadiope and Arnold Eli Nadiope. To honor the occasion, the company has gifted the princes with twin Yinvesta accounts, each seeded with an investment to symbolize the start of a secure financial journey. The gesture is a tribute to the vision of His Majesty to uplift the socio-economic prospects of the people of Busoga, and it sets an example that future generations, beginning with the young princes, will carry forward. Yinvesta represents MTN MoMo’s simple solution to empower individuals and households with the tools to save, invest, and build a brighter future.
MTN Uganda has been a steadfast partner of the Busoga Kingdom for more than five years. Through its support for culture, sports, and socio-economic development programs, MTN continues to demonstrate its belief that together with Ugandans, progress is unstoppable.
