The Uganda Manufacturers Association (UMA) has officially announced MTN MoMo as the payments partner for the 2025 Uganda International Trade Fair (UITF), set for 2nd–12th October at the UMA Showgrounds in Lugogo.
As one of East Africa’s biggest multi-sectoral exhibitions, the annual Trade Fair brings together exhibitors from Uganda, the region, and beyond. This year, it will be held under the theme: “Sustainable Industrialisation for Inclusive Growth, Employment, and Wealth Creation.”
Through the partnership, MTN MoMo will power digital payments at the Fair, offering exhibitors and visitors faster and more convenient transactions. Attendees will be able to purchase discounted tickets in advance via the MoMo Ticketing platform, bypass long queues at the gates, and enjoy exclusive product discounts when paying with MoMo. Additionally, MTN will showcase an exclusive 5G internet experience throughout the Fair.
Speaking at the launch, Eng. James Kalibala, Chairman of the National Standards Council and Chief Guest, applauded UMA’s three-decade-long commitment to innovation and commerce, stressing the importance of quality and authenticity in promoting Ugandan products.
John Isabirye, MTN MoMo Uganda’s Key Accounts Manager, expressed excitement about the partnership, noting that the Trade Fair’s theme closely aligns with MoMo’s mission of advancing digital innovation and financial inclusion. “With MoMo, we’re making payments seamless, safe, and accessible for everyone. This partnership demonstrates our dedication to improving lives through innovations that matter,” he said.
The collaboration highlights the increasing role of technology in supporting industrialization, boosting business competitiveness, and enhancing consumer experiences. Ugandans are encouraged to buy their tickets conveniently via MoMo and take advantage of special discounts when they pay with MoMo at the Uganda International Trade Fair.
