A number of aspirants from different parts of the country are flocking the National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters in Kamwokya to pick and return expression of interest forms ahead of the party’s internal electoral process.
The activity is part of the preparations to select flagbearers who will represent the party in various elective positions during the 2026 General Elections.
The party recently opened up the nomination process to allow interested members to express their intent to contest at various levels including parliamentary and local government positions.
Photos shared from the party headquarters on Thursday showed enthusiastic supporters and aspirants lining up to submit their forms, with some coming from upcountry regions.
The internal elections are expected to help the party streamline its candidates and avoid clashes during the national nomination period slated for next year.
NUP is expected to field candidates across the country as part of its broader push to unseat the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) and expand its political influence.
