Namayanja Hails Rising NRM Support in Buganda, Touts Development in Kasambya

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Deputy Secretary General, Rose Namayanja Nsereko, has commended the growing support for the ruling party in the Buganda sub-region, citing tangible development in constituencies led by NRM legislators.

Namayanja made the remarks during a Buganda for Museveni mobilisation rally held on Friday at Kasambya Playground in Mubende District. She attributed the surge in support to consistent service delivery and the party’s close engagement with communities.

“Since we started these interactions, we’ve been encouraged by the massive support we continue to receive. Everywhere we’ve gone, people are ready and responsive,” Namayanja said, praising Kasambya residents for their “unwavering” backing of the NRM under President Yoweri Museveni’s leadership.

She drew comparisons between NRM-led constituencies and those under opposition legislators, arguing that the latter struggle to deliver services due to limited access to government programs and influence.

“People have realized that the leaders they elected in the last general elections have failed to meet their expectations,” Namayanja said. “They now understand that it is the leaders from the ruling party who bring services closer to them.”

Namayanja highlighted improvements in local health centres and schools as examples of the government’s ongoing interventions in Kasambya, describing them as a reflection of the NRM’s commitment to transforming communities.

The Minister of State for Microfinance, Hon. Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo, rallied residents to support the NRM in future elections, calling for the replacement of opposition MPs with party loyalists.

“I want to ask you to replace every opposition MP with an NRM candidate,” said Kasolo. “The NRM still has the vision and capacity to take Uganda forward.”

Meanwhile, Kasambya County MP, Hon. David Kabanda, pledged full support for President Museveni in the upcoming general elections and announced plans to lobby for Kasambya’s elevation to district status.

“As your MP, I will work tirelessly to ensure Kasambya is granted district status, enhancing service delivery in infrastructure, education, healthcare, electricity, and clean water access,” Kabanda said.

The Buganda for Museveni campaign is part of the NRM’s broader effort to consolidate support in the central region ahead of the 2026 general elections.
