
The National Unity Platform (NUP) has opened the application process for party members interested in contesting various positions in the 2026 General Elections on its ticket.
In a statement signed by Chemutai Harriet, Chairperson of the party’s Election Management Committee, NUP invited expressions of interest from members seeking to contest as Members of Parliament, District Chairpersons, Mayors, Local Government Chairpersons, and Councillors at all levels.
The application period will run from June 1 to June 23, 2025, with submissions accepted on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
Applicants are required to complete a one-page Expression of Interest form, which can be downloaded from the NUP website at https://nupuganda.org/nup-expression-of-interest-application-form-2025. Forms are also available at constituency registrar offices, the party headquarters in Makerere-Kavule, and sub-regional offices across the country.
Submission guidelines indicate that forms for those seeking to contest as Members of Parliament, District Chairpersons, City and KCCA Division Mayors, KCCA Councillors, and Wakiso District Councillors should be submitted directly to the party headquarters. Aspirants for other positions can submit their forms to constituency registrars or sub-regional offices in areas such as Gulu, Arua, Lira, Moroto, Mbarara, Kabale, Kasese, Fort Portal, Hoima, Jinja, Mbale, Busia, Soroti, Kapchorwa, Mukono, Mpigi, Mubende, Masaka, and Luwero.
Applicants must provide a copy of their NUP membership card
A copy of their national identification card
Certified academic documents, which are mandatory only for those contesting as Members of Parliament, LC5 Chairpersons, and City Mayors
Forms and supporting documents may also be scanned and sent via email to emc@nupuganda.org or emcnup@gmail.com.
NUP noted that a separate call for expressions of interest for the Presidential flag bearer will be made at a later date.
