The newly elected National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chairman for Sheema Municipality and area Member of Parliament, Dickson Kateshumbwa, has said his leadership will focus on fostering party unity, mass mobilization, and strengthening party structures.
Kateshumbwa made the remarks on Thursday after chairing his first meeting with the party’s executive committees since assuming the chairmanship.
“We discussed ways to foster party unity and mass mobilization, as well as strengthening the structures across the Municipality,” he said, adding that the committee pledged to uphold cohesion and discipline in line with the core principles of the NRM.
The meeting also focused on harmonizing approaches ahead of Friday’s district-level internal elections to ensure balance and inclusiveness among party members.
Kateshumbwa commended the NRM Electoral Commission for the smooth conduct of the party’s internal elections so far.
“So far I commend the NRM EC for well-conducted polls since we started party structures,” he noted.
His leadership comes at a time when the NRM is reorganizing its grassroots organs across the country, a move seen as critical for consolidating party support ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
