Chil Group, Reckitt Join Forces To Boost Hygiene Education In Ugandan Schools

1 Mins read

Chil Group, a trailblazer in health and hygiene innovation, has announced a transformative partnership with Reckitt, the global company renowned for trusted brands like Dettol, Harpic, and JIK. The collaboration builds on a foundation laid in 2023, when Reckitt invested in Chil Group’s telemedicine programs through its WINFUND initiative co-founded with Health Innovation Exchange.

This strengthened partnership now focuses on a new mission: improving hygiene and health standards in schools across Africa. Central to the initiative is the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program, an ambitious project to enhance hygiene facilities and provide impactful education.

Transforming Hygiene Education in Schools

In its initial phase, the program is set to reach 1,500 schools across Uganda, equipping children, teachers, and communities with practical knowledge on maintaining hygiene.

The project’s long-term goal is to scale efforts across Sub-Saharan Africa, ensuring sustainable change and better health outcomes for schools and surrounding communities.

“Reckitt has been a game-changer for us,” said Dr. Shamim Nabuuma, Founder of Chil Group.

“Their support in 2023 gave a big boost to our telemedicine projects. Now, this renewed commitment with the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program allows us to tackle a key challenge related to hygiene education for school-aged children. Together, we will educate, empower, and inspire schoolchildren, instilling healthy hygiene habits.”

Key Objectives of the Partnership:

  • Education for Children and Families: Focused on empowering children aged 5-8, their teachers, and families with essential hygiene knowledge.
  • Improved Facilities: Delivering better hygiene infrastructure in schools.

A Shared Vision for a Healthier Africa

This partnership represents a union of Chil Group’s innovative health solutions and Reckitt’s decades-long expertise in hygiene education.

By leveraging their strengths, the two organizations aim to create lasting change in Uganda and serve as a model for similar efforts across the continent.

With the Dettol Hygiene Quest Program, both Chil Group and Reckitt are poised to make a significant impact, fostering healthier habits in young generations and laying the groundwork for a healthier future.

This initiative highlights the power of public-private partnerships in tackling systemic challenges and improving the lives of communities across Africa.
