The Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA) has achieved official recognition, now standing as a legal entity duly registered by the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB).
Confirmation of this milestone came from USPA President, Moses Alsayed Lubega, during the Annual General Meeting held on Saturday at the Cooper Chimney Restaurant in Lugogo.
“We are now officially registered under number 80034884185506 as the Uganda Sports Press Association (USPA Limited), operating as a guarantee without share capital,” stated Lubega to an enthusiastic assembly.
“This new status not only safeguards our partnerships but also secures our name, empowering us to engage in formal negotiations, establish memorandum of understandings, contracts, and steer policy and agenda setting.”
“Moreover, our legal standing enhances our credibility with partners, corporate entities, agencies, and others,” Lubega emphasized.
USPA has cultivated strong relationships with partners such as Nile Special, Plascon Uganda, City Tyres, and Standard Chartered Bank.
Simultaneously, at the March monthly assembly held on the same day, long-distance runner Jacob Kiplimo clinched the Nile Special Sports Personality of the Month award.
Kiplimo reaffirmed his world-class status by defending his title at the World Cross Country Championship in Belgrade, Serbia, with an impressive time of 26:09.
