A head teacher is being sought by the Criminal Investigations Directorate (CID) and Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP) East Regional Police for allegedly defiling and coercing a 14-year-old girl into an abortion.

After the girl disclosed that he had defiled her in August, Joe Jolly Otim, the head teacher of Grace Day Care Orphanage Primary School in the Mukono division of Nakifuma town council, went on the run.

“Over the Christmas season, he invited me to his house. He shut the door behind me as soon as I walked into his room, stripped me naked with force, and assaulted me sexually.

He warned me not to tell anyone,” The victim said to the police

“He gave me 5,000 Shillings.”

On September 30, Otim—who has allegedly been referring to the girl as his daughter—apparently called her again and handed her 5,000 shillings so she could get checked out.

However, the nurses chose to test for pregnancy, and the results were positive.

“I went to tell him when the nurses told me I was pregnant. He concluded that I should abort the foetus and stated that it would shame him. He gave me 60,000 shillings so I could pay the abortionists.”

According to the victim, “I went back to the nurses with the money, and they rejected the idea and decided to report to the school director.”

According to CID detectives, the school director informed the girl’s mother and the police as soon as he learned of the regrettable act his head teacher had committed.

Otim quickly left the location after receiving news of his impending arrest, although it’s unclear who informed him of it.

“We believe the head teacher was informed that he would be arrested when the girl told someone else about the incident.

“He had left the area by the time we got to the school,” according to authorities.

According to police spokesperson Fred Enanga, Otim’s crime is only one of many that CID is presently investigating, in which individuals who were supposed to protect the youngsters have instead turned out to be sexual assaulters.

He called it a regrettable situation in which individuals entrusted with the care of children are abusing them.

“We have a comparable case in Bushenyi district, where our police have an 18-year-old male suspect named Crytin Amanya under custody for the serious defilement of a female twin who is seven years old,” said Enanga

This suspect defiled her on October 4 of this year, according to Enanga.

Amanya lives in the Ishaka division’s Buhuma cell.

CID claims that one of the twins hurried to the Kijumo Trading Center to tell her mother about Amanya’s desire to contaminate them both.

The mother was compelled to return home quickly, only to discover her other twin girls soiled and naked.

This was the third time that he had defiled me.

“He would always threaten to murder me if I ever told anyone about his defilements of me. He keeps monitoring me, so I’ve been afraid to tell you,” the victim allegedly admitted to the mother.

The victim’s mother notified the chairman of Local Council One, who then ordered the suspect’s arrest.

All of the girls underwent medical examinations to verify the information provided by the girls, and the results showed that he had defiled them on multiple occasions.

” Amanya is linked to the victim’s mother. He had been given the responsibility of looking after the victims while the mother went about her regular work as a retail clerk.
