FEAR WOMEN!!! Woman Steals Church Vehicle At Aponye Burial, Intercepted By Police At Rwampara Roadblock

1 Mins read

A vehicle belonging to Kikungiri Archdeaconry, under the Kigezi diocese, went missing during the burial of the businessman Apollo Nyegamehe alias Aponye on Wednesday afternoon.

Nyegamehe’s body was laid to rest at his ancestral home Kitaburaza village, Muhanga town council, Rukiga district following a fatal accident on Thursday last week.

The burial attracted a large gathering, including business operators, political leaders, clergy, and government officials.

However, towards the end of the burial service, it was discovered that a SUZUKI motor vehicle registration number UAT 478N, assigned to Kikungiri Archdeaconry in the southern division of Kabale municipality, had been stolen by unidentified thieves.

The vehicle had transported clergy members led by Venerable Canon Amos Tweteise, the Kikungiri archdeacon.

Despite the clergy’s efforts to make announcements and recover the vehicle, no progress was made.

Consequently, the archdeacon’s driver, Guard Arineitwe, rushed to the Muhanga police station to report the incident and seek assistance.

Rev. Canon Milton Nkurunungi, the Kigezi Diocesan Secretary, confirmed the theft, expressing the diocese’s frustration in tracing the missing vehicle. They alerted all security authorities in western Uganda to aid in the search and the vehicle was intercepted last night at a roadblock in Rwampara district.

The suspected thief is a woman and is currently in the hands of the Police.

Nkurunungi condemned the heartless act, questioning how such a solemn burial, where many were grieving the loss of Nyegamehe, could also attract individuals with ill intentions.
