Chief Justice Is Not Critically Ill — Judiciary

Judiciary Uganda has clarified that Chief Justice Hon. Alfonse Chigamoy Owiny-Dollo is not critically ill as is being reported by several media houses.

The news comes when a leading news tabloid published a headline on how the Chief Justice is bedridden.

The headline that was published today in Red Pepper

“The attention of the Judiciary has been drawn to different media publications claiming that the Chief Justice is critically ill, whereas not. While it is true that the Hon. Chief Justice is out of the country receiving some medical attention, it is not correct that he is “critically ill” or “ill” at all.,” reads a statement issued by Karemani Jamson K., Public Relations Officer Judiciary Uganda.

The statement further reads; “We therefore wish to dispel the unfounded and exaggerated reports about his health, and further reassure the general public that the Chief Justice will soon return and continue serving the people of Uganda.

“Members of the public are therefore implored to stay calm and ignore the misleading publications about the Hon. The Chief Justice.”
