ONC Boss Hadijah Challenges Bazzukulu to Champion Corruption fight

1 Mins read

In his quest to curb the vice of corruption and make it a thing of the past, President Yoweri Museveni is leaving no stone unturned.

On Tuesday, the Special Presidential Advisor and head of the Office of the National Chairman, Ms Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, outlined the president’s assignments to a group of regional coordinators .

The coordinators, sourced from regions across the country, are undergoing a two-day orientation, to equip them with knowledge on how they will fulfill the Chairman’s assignments and ensure government services are well received by ordinary Ugandans.

“The president has tasked us to follow-up on the emyooga and Parish Development Model funds that were released to aid development at the grassroots,” Ms Namyalo said.

The Parish Development Model is premised on the model that the Parish Development Committee(PDC) together with common citizens as the end user of social services are better placed to identify and respond to their own needs, priorities, and direct use of resources.

She added that they would be engaged in ensuring that service delivery as envisioned by the president will be implemented.

Singling out sectors like health and education, Uzeiye said the coordinators are now tasked with finding out the vaccination coverage across the country and report their findings to the president.

“The president wants to know those who have been vaccinated for various ailments…he also wants to know why se ofbthe needy do not access education yet education is universal,” she said.

The coordinators were also addressed by the State House Comptroller, Mrs. Jane Barekye who challenged the coordinators to be agents of positive change in their regions and avoid using their new positions to engage in fights to divide the people.

Tamale Mirundi, David Mafabi were some of the other facilitarors of the summit.

The ONC has recently organised activations across the country that have seen regions unanimously endorse President Museveni under the slogan “Jajja Tova ku main.”
