Five Female Eritrean Players Disappear From Camp

Five female Eritrean players have on Tuesday morning disappeared from their hotel in Jinja.

Eritrea is among the countries participating in the CECAFA women’s U20 championship that has been running since October 30 and will end on November 9, 2021 in Njeru, Uganda.

The tournament is being held at FUFA technical centre, Njeru.

Statement on the disappearance of Eritrean players at the on-going CECAFA Women’s U-20 Championship 2021 

TO: ALL MEDIA HOUSES CECAFA AFFILIATES

CECAFA has confirmed that five Eritrean players have this morning disappeared from their Hotel in Jinja, Uganda.

The team is taking part in the regional CECAFA Women’s U-20 Championship which kicked-off on October 30. and ends on November 9th in Njeru, Uganda.

The matter has been reported to the Police in Jinja, and investigations are on-going.

CECAFA, the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) and the Police are doing their best to locate these players.
