Six Confirmed Dead, Scores Injured In Collapsed Kisenyi Building

Uganda police has so far confirmed that 6 people have been confirmed dead while several injured after a building collapsed in Kampala yesterday.

The four storeyed building that was under construction is located in Kisenyi zone Muzaana Parish in Rubaga Division.

The collapsed covered vehicles, motor cycles and workers there-in.

Uganda Police’s Directorate of Fire and rescue services and Uganda Red Cross   are at the scene  to help with the rescue operation, the number of people trapped under the rubble hasn’t been established yet.

Deputy Police Spokesperson, Kampala Metropolitan, ASP Luke Owoyesigire confirmed these reports.

“Six people have been confirmed dead after the collapse of the four storeyed building this afternoon. Among those confirmed dead are five male and one female,” said Luke.

He added that; “The fire and rescue services have also rescued two children who are currently receiving treatment at Mulago National Referral Hospital.”
