Bobi Wine sister, Betty Ssentamu has lost an election petition to NRMs Sylvia Nayebale after the former failed to pay court fees of Shs150,000 in the stipulated time.

Mpigi High Court Judge, Justice Anthony Wabwire dismissed the petition after revealing that Betty Ssentamu did not pay the court fees of Shs150,000 in the stipulated time.

“The petition is dismissed since the petitioner failed to meet the financial demands of the court as required. The petitioner did not also present satisfactory witnesses before court. All parties in this case should meet their own costs,” ruled Justice Wabwire.

This website understands that Betty Ssentamu managed to only pay Shs100,000 yet the court fees were Shs150,000.

After the ruling, Betty Ssentamu said that the records were altered and she will appeal in the Court of Appeal.

Betty Ssentamu had filed the petition on grounds that voting was marred by intimidation and voter bribery.

It is worth noting that; Electoral Commission declared Sylvia Nayebale winner in the race after garnering 30,253 votes against Betty Ssentamu’s 22,657 votes.
