Prof. Mbonye’s Death Is a Big Disappointment For The Country — Museveni

President Museveni has said that the untimely death of Prof. Anthony Mbonye is a big disappointment for the country since he still had a lot to contribute.

Museveni said this while sending out a condolence message to the family of the late professor.

“I want to express condolences to our incoming Head of Civil Service, Lucy Nakyobe on account of the death of her husband, Dr. Mbonye. His untimely death is a big disappointment for the country and all who know his work in the medical service,” tweeted president Museveni.

He further tweeted that; “He still had a lot to contribute. I salute Lucy Nakyobe because she did everything possible to support him during the time of his sickness. She was always briefing me. May his soul rest in external peace.”

Professor Mbonye was declared dead today morning.

He succumbed to cancer that he has been battling for years now.

According to tentative program that Ug Mirror has seen, there will be a scientific vigil at his home at Plot 10 Buziga Close today.

Tomorrow Monday July 26, 2021, the body will leave for Ibanda, Rwenkobwa. Burial will be on Tuesday July 27 at midday.
