General Katumba Speaks From Hospital; I’m In Safe Hands, Pray For My Family

General Katumba Wamala who survived assassination on Tuesday morning has appealed to Ugandans to put his wife and family in their prayers following the tragic incident that claimed his daughter and driver,

Katumba said this moments after arriving at Medipal International Hospital where he was rushed for treatment following the shooting.

“All my children, i’ll be fine. We have lost Brenda but thats God’s plan, she did nothing bad but the bad guys have done. God has given me a second chance, i’ll pull through,” a teary Katumba says surrounded by family members.

He adds, “Don’t worry, i dont have bad injuries, only the arms but i will be fine. I’m with the doctors and the doctors are doing everything possible. I love you guys. Pray for Mummy, mummy is in a terrible terrible state, please pray for her.”

The former CDF was shot at by men riding on motorcycles. He was in his military plated vehicle, a Land Cruiser V8 with his daughter Brenda Nantogo, Dirver and bodyguard. The shooting happening along Kitosa road in Kisasi.

Brenda and the driver did not survive.

After the shooting, Gen Katumba was taken to Malcolm Clinic where first aid was administered before being transferred to Medipal where he is admitted.
