Political Uncertainty Looms As Ministers Dance Away 2016 — 21 Term

Uganda government ministers on Monday danced to Lucky Dube’s ‘Back To My roots’ hit after a luncheon hosted by President Yoweri Museveni.

This was after the final cabinet meeting of this term of office with Museveni set to swear-in on May 12th 2021.

He is expected to form a new government thereafter.

“On behalf of NRM, I thank you collectively and individually for serving your country for the last five years,” Museveni said.

Ruth Nankabirwa, the government chief whip praised Museveni for taking his time to chair cabinet meetings.

“Thank you very much for training us Sir! You have trained us to be hardworking, you have trained us to be focused. You have trained us to be tolerant. You have trained us to be patient. You have been patient with us, we thank. You have taught us to be strategic thinkers and to focus on priorities,” she said.

According to sources, some ministers left the State House Entebbe grounds wary of whether they would make it back as the there has been talk in the corridors of power that Museveni is expected to bring in new and young blood.
