President Museveni Inauguration Date Set

President-elect Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will be sworn into office on 12th May 2021, at Kololo Independence Grounds, the government has revealed.

In a tweet by the Uganda Media Centre, the event will be marked with celebrations held under the theme: “πš‚πš‘πšŠπš™πš’πš—πš πš„πšπšŠπš—πšπšŠ’𝚜 πšπšŽπšœπšπš’πš—πš’; πš˜πšžπš› πšœπš˜πš•πšŽ πšŒπš˜πš•πš•πšŽπšŒπšπš’πšŸπšŽ πšŽπšπšπš˜πš›t.”

Last month, Uganda’s Supreme Court confirmed the Election of incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni after allowing the withdrawal of National Unity Platform’s (NUP)  President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine’s Election Petition.

The news of the inauguration date comes a day after security organs revealed that they had confiscated printed materials intended to be used to incite the public in a bid to disrupt the swearing in ceremony of the president.

“I would like to bring to your attention the continued hate speech by a section through the help of foreigners. Recently they are saying they are going to interrupt the swearing-in of the president-elect come 12th May 2021,” Brig Flavia Byekwaso, UPDF Spokesperson said on Monday during a press briefing.

She added, “Any person who stands in the way of peace will be dealt with decisively. Ugandans are urged to desist from such, they are not productive. We urge those who are planning for such to stop because we are aware and know where they are.”
