President Yoweri Museveni on Tuesday met with a group of disgruntled youths mobilized by the country’s Inter-religious Council.

During the meeting, Museveni promised to support them with income generating activities tom improve their livelihoods.

“Together with the Council, we shall support projects that will help resettle these youth, most especially those that will lead to income generation,” President Museveni said.

The President revealed that part of the group he met included those who did not vote for him in the January presidential elections that he won saying they were misled.

“The other section of Disgruntled Youth we met were those who did not support me in the previous elections, these had later been misled by their leaders to engage in sporadic protests against the government,” Museveni said.

He added, “I assured them that they were very lucky to have woken up from such a ‘bad dream’ because we were so ready for them. I thanked them for realizing the need to come forward so we can work together.”
