“I have the qualities, i have what it takes, i have the stamina, i have a clear understanding of issues, i have a clear understanding of issues of this parliament…I feel I’ll galvanize my colleagues, the MPs and the country. I want to make my contribution in uniting the country and making a contribution,” Ssekikubo said over the weekend as he announced his plans.
Following the announcement both local and legislative leaders in Sembabule district say they are campaigning for him.
Ssekikubo’s declaration came during a get-together party for all elected local and legislative leaders of NRM and National Unity Platform in Sembabule district, at the home of the new district chairman, Patrick Nkalubo.
The legislator says he has fought many political battles, so the race for deputy speakership is not an uphill task for him.
