Kyadondo East Member of Parliament and National Unity Platform presidential candidate, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi has said that security operatives raided his Magere home and arrested two of his gardeners.
He also revealed that his security guard was beaten to pulp.
“This morning two of my gardeners were arrested and my security guard was badly beaten,” Wine said today morning.
He further communicated via Facebook that some of his supporters have been arrested and others badly beaten.
He also singled out the attack and brutal arrest of his friend Lule David aka Selector Davie Ug.
“Last night at around 2am, a group of security operatives wearing army uniform and some in plain clothes raided the home of our comrade Lule David aka 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐔𝐠 and according to his neighbours and other witnesses, these security operatives who travelled in two drones; fired live bullets in the air before dragging him out of his house,” reads Bobi Wine post on Facebook.
The post further reads that; “They say he was beaten mercilessly and taken to an unknown place.
“Reports of raids on many other homes of NUP supporters keep coming in and we are aware this is being done by State operatives who are using several security agencies.
“Our legal team has been looking for Davie at various police stations to no avail.”
A few weeks ago, over 80 NUP supporters and Bobi Wine campaign team members were arrested in Kalangala district.
Uganda goes to the polls this Thursday January 14, 2021 with the tight race between NRM’s President Yoweri Tibuhaburwa Kaguta Museveni and ghetto gladiator Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi who is famously known as Bobi Wine.
