Dfcu Bank Appoints Veronica Sentongo As Chief Change & Innovation

Dfcu Bank has appointed Veronica Sentongo as the Bank’s Chief Change & Innovation Officer who will support the implementation of its growth and transformation strategy with specific focus on driving the digital agenda.

Prior to joining dfcu Bank, she served as Group Head of Digital Innovation at ICEA LION in Nairobi, where she championed the inception of the Grown and Innovation Centre and implementation of the company’s Digital Strategy across Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.

She also worked at Stanbic Bank where she spearheaded the Digital Transformation Journey as Head, Digital Banking; and attained numerous accolades for her contribution towards Innovation, Risk and Security, Commercialisation, Customer Delight and growing the Digital revenue lines.

She is a certified project management expert, holds a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering – majoring in Telecommunications – and a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, both from the University of Cape Town.  She also received the prestigious Meraka Institute Scholarship from the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) where she worked in several roles within the engineering field. 

Veronica began her career in 2004, as a Trainee Engineer at Multi-Konsults Engineering Consultancy and then moved on to Network Switch Planning at MTN-Uganda. While doing her Master’s degree at the University of Cape Town, Veronica was appointed President of the Institute for Electronic and Electrical Engineers (IEEE) – Student Chapter. 

As she joins dfcu Bank, Victoria brings on board vast experience in Microfinance, Financial Inclusion, Digital Money, Data Analytics and Project Management. Her passion for Technology, Financial Inclusion, Customer-centricity and Digital Transformation will complement dfcu Bank’s transformation journey towards Bank 4.0.
