Bobi Wine To Be charged With Doing Act Likely To Spread Infectious Disease

Arrested president of National Unity Platform, Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi who is famously known as Bobi Wine is charged with doing act likely to spread Infectious Disease.

Bobi Wine was arrested today in Luuka district where he was scheduled to campaign.

He is currently detained at Nalufenya police post in Jinja City.

His charge sheet reads that; “Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu and others at large on November 18, at around 11:00 am at Luuka Town district, knowingly or having reason to believe that it was likely to spread infectious disease mobilized and addressed a campaign rally of more than 200 people who were not respecting Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of Electoral Commission and Ministry of health and act likely to spread infectious disease.

It should be noted that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ministry of Health and Electoral Commission banned mass gatherings that exceed 200 people.

This is aimed at reducing the spready of the deadly coronavirus.
