Parliament Bus Catches Fire Along Gulu-Kampala Highway

Uganda parliament bus has caught fire along Gulu-Kampala highway today afternoon, Ug Mirror reports.

The parliament bus was attached to the Ministry of health and was transporting 25 COVID19 patients from Kitgum to Kampala.

“A Parliament of Uganda bus Reg. No. UG 0391H attached to the Ministry of Health has caught fire on the Gulu-Kampala Highway,” reads the statement issued by parliament today.

The statement further reads that; “The bus was transporting 25 COVID-19 patients from Kitgum District to Kampala. All the occupants in the bus were evacuated and are safe.

“The Police Fire Department put out the fire and has now commenced on investigations to establish the cause.

“The Ministry of Health has managed the patients to ensure they do not interact with members of the public.

“The Parliamentary Commission is awaiting a report from the Police and will update the public.”
