Former television presenter,Sheilah Gashumba recently received a brand new BMW from her father, Frank Gashumba.
She said that is something normal that should not create a lot of noise in the public. “To be honest getting a BMW was not a surprise. It is something normal because if you know when I was in school my dad used to buy me the latest phone. I would travel in business class. So this is normal,”she said during an interview with NBS’s Uncut.
“I have the best dad in Uganda. When I told people one time that my dad is the best in Uganda, I was abused and insulted almost for a full week but the truth is that he is the best,”she added.
Sheilah explained how she got the gift saying that she got a call from the dad after meeting with singer Spice Diana telling her to come home as soon as possible.
“While I had given Spice Diana a visit to sell to her my new luxury wig line and after selling the wigs to her. She actually wanted to drive me home but she had a live zoom interview so her manager Roger decided to drop me home.”she said.
Sheilah said her dad kept on insisting that she needs to be home as he has something important to tell her. “I walked into the gate and found a monster white BMW and my dad said to me, this is your car.Thank you dad. I know it isn’t my birthday and you still didn’t find a reason to gift me,”she said.
“My dad deserves all my love. He deserves all my time. He deserves all my attention and I am also blessed to have people around me who love me, ” she added.
According to critics, the gift was meant to nurse Sheilah’s wounds of breaking up with the boyfriend God’s Plan and also to bring her back home after many years.
However, Gashumba refuted the rumours noting that their relationship is still strong.
“I have never heard of that rumour and who told you that I broke up with God’s plan.We are okay. There is nothing like that, “she said.
Gashumba and his daughter’s bond has started to grow strong after years of misunderstanding over the issues of the boyfriend and as an ambitious man, he has always wanted the best for his daughter.
He helped her realize his dream by getting her a job at defunct WBS TV when she was still a kid and the rest is history.
