Police Raids Radio Simba, Famous ‘Bizonto’ Arrested

1 Mins read

Security officials have Friday morning raided local radio station Radio Simba arresting five staffers.

This was revealed by the station in a statement released via their Facebook page.

“Presenters of the Bizonto Comedy Official including Julius Sserwanja alias Kidomoole, Maliseeri Mbabaali, Uncle Luyuguumo, Ssabakaaki Peter and Gold Ki Matono Opeto have been arrested,” the statement reads.

The Bukoto based station says the five are charged with promoting tribalism which is allegedly exhibited in their conversations while on the show.

Tribal talk is not a new thing in the comedy industry as this has been the focal point of all jokes cracked by comedians both on radio, television and on comedy shows.

Senior journalist Peter Kibazo said on his Facebook that the station is “under police siege” and that normal programming had been affected.

This is a developing story.
