Bobi Wine Launches A New Political Wing of the People Power Movement.

1 Mins read

People Power Movement leader and MP Kyadondo East Robert Kyagulanyi  aka Bobi Wine has launched a new political party called the National Unity Platform.

According to sources, the platform will be a political wing of the People Power party.

People power first came to light in 2017 when Robert Kyagulanyi stood for the MP seat of his constituency and the movement has since grown. The movement was set up to unite Ugandans against corruption, abuse of human rights  and its sole focus are the young people of Uganda.

The launch of the platform happened at the People Power headquarters in Kamwokya. Bobi Wine will also double as the president of the new platform as well. It happened amidst the different leaders of the people power group.

Bobi Wine has on several occasions said that he didn’t want to register People Power as a political party because he has been frustrated by the government.

The National Unity Platfrom whose symbol is an umbrella is a political party under which politicians in the People Power pressure group will stand under in the upcoming elections. The party is only a subsidiary of the pressure group so it’s values and beliefs are the same.

This move has come as a surprise not only the public but to people in government as well.
