The former president Forum for Democratic change (FDC), Dr.Kizza Besigye has said that the coalition between Kyadondo East member of parliament,Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine is aimed at liberating Ugandans from what he described as “captivity”

Besigye advised that if one wants to be a freedom fighter one should focus on who is oppressing him or her but not the oppressed. He said that this is the time for the opposition to unite so that president Museveni in dislodged from power come 2021.

“The coalition is anchored on a struggle for the people of Uganda to regain influence and control over their country. The struggle is to return the power to the people, so we need to unite to ensure that we win the forth coming elections,” Besigye explained.

He said that the people in power have a monopoly on violence because they control information, institutions of power, and resources. He also urged all the religious leaders to join the struggle because they are important in this struggle of liberating the country.

“The fear created by the dictators helps them to control the people. They use force to control money. They monopolize the resources of the people and then buy support from the very people they suppress,” Besigye said.

According to him, the struggle now requires all the affected people to rally together and confront their oppressors because it is together that they can overcome.
