Uganda-Rwanda Peace Talks Set to Resume Via Video Conferencing

1 Mins read

The troubles between Uganda and Rwanda have not yet ended despite a short time stall that was caused by the Coronavirus pandemic, and the peace talks are set to resume this week via video Conferencing.

The talks are set to resume on Thursday June 4, 2020.

According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry Permanent Secretary, Amb Patrick Mugoya, the two countries are accusing themselves of some things, which has brought about bad blood.

The Permanent Secretary also said, “This will be a continuation of what we started at Katuna Border.”

On February 21 President Museveni, and President Paul Kagame agreed on the guidelines and conditions under which the Katuna border was to reopened.

However the last meeting that was meant to facilitate the full reopening of the border didn’t happen because of the Coronavirus Pandemic, that also put the two countries on tenterhooks.
