Chinese tycoon Jack Ma has delivered on his promise to aid countries that are battling COVID-19 which is caused by coronavirus including Uganda.
The cargo that arrived in Uganda by Ethiopian Airlines comprises 100,000 masks, 20,089 test kits 741 Personal Protective Equipment and 1,111 face shields.
Ma has sent similar shipments of medical supplies to countries in Asia, Europe, North America and Latin America.
The Ethiopian Airlines cargo flight delivered the Jack Ma consignment today at Entebbe International airport.
The consignment reached at the time when Uganda confirmed new 8 cases of COVID-19 bringing the total to 9 cases all travelling from Dubai.
The victims are all Ugandan nationals who had all travelled to Dubai either by Fly Emirates or Ethiopian Airlines and these were part of the 35 tests that were made on Tuesday, 24 March 2020
The minister of health Dr Jane Ruth Aceng said all cases Uganda is getting are from Dubai and all travelled on either Ethiopian Airlines or Emirates questioning whether what was reported on Dubai were facts.
