The death toll from the coronavirus outbreak in mainland China has risen anew to 636, according to the country’s National Health Commission on Friday.

Out of the total 73 new deaths reported, 69 cases were reported from Hubei province, the epicentre of the outbreak, including 64 in the provincial capital Wuhan.

It should be remembered that there are over 70 Ugandan Students currently living uncomfortably in Wuhan, and they are asking the government to evacuate them.

This leaves African students, especially Ugandan students in Wuhan totally frightened, and in fear of losing their lives to the extent that they are crying out to Government to have them evacuated as soon as possible, as seen from recent tweets and the hashtag #EvacuateUgandansInWuhan.

Please, before you comment about something be sure you’ve got all your facts. Do you people think we want to kill Ugandans? Do you honestly think we want to infect you? If you want to quarantine us on an island in Lake Victoria for 2-3weeks it’s okay..WE JUST WANT TO COME HOME.

Although this is a sad time, the government of Uganda through its spokesperson, Ofwono Opondo have advised Ugandans in Wuhan to remain calm as the Chinese government has promised to handle the situation.

Ugandans in #Wuhan have been advised by #UGGovt @KagutaMuseveni to remain there and observe all the precautionary measures placed by the #ChineseGovt. @UgandaMediaCent @lindahNabusayi https://t.co/3mUvzemX35

Despite the continuous push by some members of the online Fraternity to have our brothers and sister evacuated from Wuhan, some people are really worried that if any evacuated Student happens to have the virus, Uganda will be wiped clean in no minute. Here are some of the Tweets;

Nice one 👍
Let them stay there

Before you tell Ugandans in China to stay there or coming back, ask yourself how prepared we are for that virus, first remove your feelings and use your brains.

When millions of lives are at stake, there's a lot more to consider than just chartering a plane to evacuate Ugandans from China coz that's actually the easiest part.
If China has with all its superior tech failed to contain the Corona virus, does Uganda honestly stand a chance?

— Mwes™ (@Mwes_Drew) February 6, 2020

Government is protecting us it’s broke citizens, imagine one of those people comes back with that shyt. It can clear 6 districts in just hours👐🏾 https://t.co/etRtjhhqS2

I am very sorry that you are stuck there in Wuhan.

But the idea that Ugandans should be evacuated out of Wuhan back to Uganda, is outrageous.

If only one Ugandan is infected with the coronavirus, how the hell will the virus be contained in Uganda?
UG has less than 60 ICU beds.

From the look of things, Ugandans are even more scared of the Coronavirus than even the over 40 Ugandan students in Wuhan.
