On Sunday 2nd February, a government vehicle registration number UG 2508A belonging to Amuria District Local Government was involved in an accident at Bushalif Trading Centre, Nawaikona Sub-County along the Tirinyi-Mbale highway.

This accident was caused by the double cabin trying to overtake a police water truck where it lost control and knocked down the five year old leaving the mother and another relative injured. The five year old died instantly and the rest were rushed to Iganga-Nakavule hospoital.

Eyewitnesses however say the double cabin was over speeding and that’s what led the car off its course. The driver is detained at Namutumba Police Station.
