Stop Electing Leaders Who Oppose Government — Museveni

1 Mins read

President Museveni has urged the members of public more especially residents of Nakaseke to stop voting for leaders who can’t address their issues.

Museveni made the remarks during his trek.

Museveni blamed the residents for electing ‘useless leaders like Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Ssemakula Lutamaguzi.

“Nakaseke [South] made a mistake and sent in a young man called Lutamaguzi. You sent this useless young man [to Parliament]. Lutamaguzi, that young man is useless, so that is your own mistake,” he said.

Museveni said slow development in their areas are frustrated by the opposition Member of Parliament noting that Ssemakula is the reason his area is still devoid of services such as clean water supply and electricity.

Museveni urged locals to always elect and work with leaders that can work with government for easy service delivery.

A number of issues and challenges were presented to the president and he pledged to address them with immediate effect.

Semuto Sub-county chairperson in Nakaseke District, Ismail Kasozi, demanded that the secondary school that the President had previously pledged be fulfilled.

“President I hereby request that you honour your promises. You promised to give us a secondary school in Kilema Village but we have never seen it since the war ended. It has never been built,” Mr Kasozi said.

Kasozi also asked Museveni to increase the packages allotted to locals in the Operation Wealth Creation so that it benefits more people.
