Bobi Wine Cleared by Electoral Commission to Carry Out Nationwide Consultations Ahead of 2021 Elections

The leader of People power movement also Kyadondo East member of parliament Robert Kyagulanyi commonly known as Bobi Wine has been granted permission and  clearence  by the Electoral Commission to continue with his intention  of carrying  out  nationwide consultations  in preparation for 2021 elections.

Few months ago Bobi wine came out and declared his intention to challenge president Museveni in the forth coming elections.

This very month, Bobi Wine officially wrote to the Electoral Commission informing them about his intention to carry his consultations across the country as per the constitution. 

Jotham Taremwa Electoral Commission spokesperson noted  that Bobi wine is free to go on with his nationwide consultations as long as he follows the law. 

“He is free to carry out his consultations as long as they don’t turn into political rallies,” he said. 

He however warned  the politician to carryout his consultations within the law and avoid all things which can cause turmoil in the country. 

He also cautioned him against distributing any campaign material.

Taremwa also advised Bobi Wine to first seek permission from the police and local council leaders for any area he wants to carry out the consultations.
