MTN Launches Freedom Data Bundles That Cannot Expire

MTN has today launched a range of new data bundles with no expiry date. This development is the first of its kind in Uganda.

The introduction of MTN Freedom Bundles means that MTN data customers can load and use a data bundle for as long as they have MBs, without worrying about expiry. MTN Freedom Bundles also feature the cheapest mobile data bundle in Uganda at only UGX 100/- for 6MB.

Speaking at the ICT Innovations Expo organized by the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, MTN Uganda CEO, Wim Vanhelleputte ardently said, “MTN Uganda has taken the lead in the industry by introducing these affordable Freedom Bundles, whose validity isn’t restricted by time or date of expiry”. He further noted that these new Freedom Bundles are the most affordable mobile internet bundles on the market.

In a move to further address issues of affordability and value for money in general, “MTN Uganda has implemented this game changing move that we believe will improve both data adoption and usage. We are convinced that now is the time to address this key customer concern,” said Wim.

The CEO noted that the launch of the Freedom Bundles is in line with MTN’s vision of ‘leading the delivery of a bold, new digital world for our customers’ and testimony of MTN’s commitment to respond fast to the ever-changing needs of customers and the industry.

The MTN Freedom Bundles are available to MTN data customers alongside the other existing data bundles, so customers can choose to load a bundle that suits their needs and budget. 

To access the new Freedom Bundles, a customer simply dials Dial *150*7# and follows the prompts. Customers can load Freedom bundles using either airtime or MTN MoMo. Customers also have the option of buying Freedom Bundles for other customers.
