I Will Not Sign ICC Petition Against Museveni — Muntu

1 Mins read

The National Coordinator of Alliance for National Transformation, Gen. Mugisha Muntu has said he will not get involved in the signing of a petition to drag President Yoweri Museveni to the International Criminal Court (ICC) stating that it will not directly lead to a change of the regime.

“AS for the issue of signing the petition to drag President Museveni to ICC, so for me as an individual I won’t be putting my signature,” he said.

Recently, the Opposition under People’s Government threatened to take President Museveni and other leaders to the International Criminal Court on the issues of gross violations of human rights, and committing crimes against humanity.

Muntu made the revelations in Fort Portal during a training of A.N.T coordinators in the Tooro sub region.

Muntu however stressed that he won’t stop any of his members from appending their signatures to the FDC petition.

“With the effort by people’s Government and FDC in processing signatures for taking Museveni to ICC we have no problem with that even our leaders within the party are free to sign it,” he said.

He also noted that his party members who don’t want to sign the petition, they should feel free to do whatever they feel like.

He urged the leaders of Fort portal to support the party and its ideologies more especially priority should be put in building party structures for a strong foundation.

“Every person should know what ANT is because when the party is known for what it stands for, it means we have capacity to field a candidate in every contestable position.”
