The Democratic Party Secretary General Gerald Siranda has said that DP will summon its party members who were appointed as coordinator of the People Power Movement.
According to Siranda the leader of the people power movement Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi wine should have sought clearance from the party leadership before appointing its members.
“We are going to summon everyone body who is on that list ,everybody that’s is DP even if you are a leader in Democratic Party or just a mere member because we want to look at their terms of reference ,what are the terms of reference of these coordinators, “he said.
In an interview with Ug Mirror , ,he noted that after summoning DP members, they will continue engaging Bobi Wine because they still have hope of working together to build the people’s mass in order to build strong institution.
“It’s like an association, you can call association of potatoes growers when you don’t grow any, it’s absurd Namayanja is the woman leader of the party I expect her to be deployed in Arua, Mbarara everywhere, now you are reducing her to Masaka, now is she going to recruit for DP or People power?” he asked.
He noted that people Power in the first place is not a party and does not have warrant structures. “What is People Power anyway, is it a party, does it have structures?” he asked.
I want to encourage democratic members to stop jumping on every bandwagon that comes,” he said.
He noted that as DP their aim is to work together and move with the umbrella so that this nation is liberated “our symbol is the hoe and our colour is green, this red thing was a revolutionary colour,” he said.
