Museveni in Kenya for COMESA Business Summit

President Yoweri Musevani is in Nairobi, the Kenyan capital, to attend the Source 21 COMESA International Trade Fair and Business Summit at the invitation of his Kenyan counterpart President Uhuru Kenyatta.

The President arrived in Kenya last evening and was received at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by the Kenya Cabinet Secretary for Industrialization Hon. Aden Mohamed, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hon. Sam Kuteesa, Uganda’s Deputy High Commissioner to Kenya Mr. Nathan Ndoboli, the Consular General in Mombasa Mr. Katureebe Tayebwa, together with other senior High Commission officials.

The COMESA International Trade Fair and Business Summit, that opens at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre later this morning will also have Heads of State engage and interface in a public-private round table, with regional business leaders and entrepreneurs that are attending the COMESA Trade and Business Summit.

The five-day Trade Expo that has attracted entrepreneurs, industrialists and manufacturers from the COMESA sub-region, is being conducted by the COMESA Business Council in partnership with Export Promotion Agencies and Private Sector Associations of the 21 COMESA member states, together with the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. 

Being held under the theme of “Hallmark of Quality”, the International Trade Expo is aimed at promoting manufacturers’ competitiveness, value addition for quality industrial output and advancing cross border trade and inter-business linkages among members of the COMESA Economic bloc.
