Earlier today Uganda Police Force confirmed the arrest of a man suspected to be the mastermind of a gang carrying out robberies and terrorising boda boda riders in the Kampala Metropolitan Area.

Speaking to the media at the Police Headquarters, the Police Spokesperson Fred Enanga noted that the force has made tremendous progress in recovering guns and tracking down suspects involved in the recent murders and robberies in the Kampala metropolitan area.

This comes at a time when many people especially cyclists and Mobile money operators are finding it hard to do their job especially in the night.

“Our territory police in Kampala metropolitan south has been conducting intelligence led operation to dismantle the suspected gang of dealers in stolen motorcycles and spare parts in the areas of Katwe, Natete and Nalukolongo which appear to be a herb for stolen motorcycles and spare parts,” Enanga said.

Among those arrested include 13 suspects of which two have been transferred to Mityana where the motorcycles were stolen, one to Fort Portal and others are detained at Special investigation Unit in Kireka.

He also revealed that the force has recovered 45 motorcycles, 55 number plates, 25 motorcycle frames and 25 engines.
