Gen. Jeje Odongo to present statement to Parliament over increased city killings next Tuesday

1 Mins read

Regardless of the newly installed surveillance cameras about town, city killings have been on a high rise recently and this has left many city dwellers worried for their lives.

It’s because of this that Parliament summoned Gen. Jeje Odongo, the Minister of Internal Affairs to explain the increase of deaths in the city.

Absent from Parliament, Speaker Rebecca Kadaga asked the Minister to present a statement to the House by Tuesday next week. “Minister of Internal Affairs should explain the killings and most of them are women,” said Speaker Kadaga.

This comes at a time when two female mobile money operators and boda boda riders have been killed gruesomely leaving the populace worried and wondering what is going on.

In the same tone, Ms. Kadaga asked Gen. Odongo to also consider a proposal to waive taxes on CCTVs in a bid to make it cheaper for anyone to acquire them thus ensuring safety.
