Are tribal sentiments to blame for the demise of Hickory bar boss, Arnold Mugisha?

1 Mins read

Yesterday, Arnold Mugisha, the proprietor of Kololo based Hickory bar was been gunned down at Quality Supermarket in Namugongo, Kiira Municipality, Wakiso district.

Much has been said about the unfortunate incident that took the life of a 26 year old and also left one police guard lame, and the other beaten to pulp.

Speaking at the requiem mass of Arnold Ainebyona held at All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero earlier today, the father of the deceased attributed his son’s shooting to tribalism.

Heartbroken, Mr. Plan Mugisha, the dad further revealed that the police should look for all the other guards involved in the scuffle and bring them to book.

“I believe Arnold was shot because of tribalism. Because he is a Munyankore, that one should be a must. Secondly, Police should also look for the other guard who helped” the father said.

However, let’s not forget the facts as described by eyewitness early that morning. Arnold Mugisha (Rest in Peace) tried to run away after his trolley hit another car that the guard was looking out for. In the process, he knocked the Askari’s leg which prompted his colleague to act.

This poses the question – are tribal sentiments to blame for the death of Hickory bar boss.

Anold will later be laid to rest on Friday 12th July 2019 at 2:00PM at Keina Parish, Rweintobo-Rwahi Town Council, Rushenyi, Ntungamo District. May his soul Rest in Peace.
